Players celebrate the winning goal in tyhe game against Sony Sugar on Wednesday 27th March, 2019
Head coach Benjamin Nyangweso’s magic rubbed in at the first time of asking as he guided the team to three points on Wednesday 27th March, with the win over Sony Sugar on his first match after his return to the team, but he says there is still work to be done.
Goals from Daniel Waweru and Enosh Ochieng negated Enock Agwanda’s strike to a mere consolation for the Millers as Nyangweso started his reign with a 2 – 1 home win. The coach lauded his charges for the confident display shown in the match and insisted the attack still needs a lot of sharpening.
Ahead of the game, he had only been with the team for three days, and made just one change from the side that featured in the previous match, against Tusker. Next up for the team is a clash against Kakamega Homeboyz and he will be hoping for goals.
“We played well, but the most important thing was getting three points. That is what matters at the end of the day and for me as the coach, coming in and working with them for three days then getting this win is also special.
“We had a lot of penetrative passes and really created a lot but we also missed many chances and I think that is one thing we will have to really work on. We want to build on this win and playing away from home we will have to be at our best,” he said.
The Wednesday result saw the team improve by one place on the log, rising to seventh on 25 points.
