Birgen back for Mathare United game, Mwahila on course for debut

Brian Birgen in action against Mathare United in a past match

The team that will face Mathare United in the third match of the 2018/19 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) campaign has been named, with the most notable inclusion being that of right back Brian Birgen.

Birgen takes up Cylus Shitote’s place, with the latter named on the bench while new signing Sunday Mwahila could get his first game for the club, having been named in the 18 – man team for the first time, following his move from SS Assad.

Mwahila option

Blessed with speed, Mwahila, scouted during the preseason tour of Mombasa, adds to The Don’s options on the right side of midfield, with Omar Boraafya still out injured.

Ezekiel Okare and Elijah Mwanzia, who scored their opening goals of the season in the last match, against KCB, will once again be deployed upfront, with Enosh Ochieng, the other scorer in the game, named on the bench.

As Shitote is named on the bench, Hamisi Abdalla misses out. Ibrahim Shambi is also injured and Chrchill Muloma will replace him in midfield.
