The team will embark on preparations for the Wazito FC game on Sunday 20th May after the postponement of the Gor Mahia game which was supposed to be played in Nakuru on Sunday 13th May
Ulinzi Stars will be inactive this coming weekend by the commission of a letter from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and Football Kenya Federation (FKF) giving approval for Gor Mahia to take on Hull City in a friendly match slated for Sunday 13th May.
Ulinzi Stars was scheduled to take on Gor Mahia on the very day in a Kenyan Premier League (KPL) game at Afraha Stadium but now the friendly match, at Kasarani, will take center stage, with a new date for the league match set to be communicated in due course.
“We have received your application form for hosting the above-mentioned friendly match scheduled to be played on the 13th of May 2018 in Moi Sports Center – Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya.
“We are pleased to inform you that CAF has no objection on your hosting of the said friendly match on condition that it is organized in conformity with FIFA Regulations.
“Kindly note that the above mentioned match should not clash with the organization of any CAF official match in the same stadium. In case of any clash, the priority goes to CAF official matches,” the approval from CAF noted, in reply to FKF’s request to host the Hull City game in Kenya.
The postponement means The Don will now embark on preparing Ulinzi Stars for the game against Wazito FC, scheduled for Sunday 20th May at Camp Toyoyo in Nairobi.
Placed second on the KPL log, Ulinzi Stars has so far played 14 matches and picked 25 points, just two behind league leaders Gor Mahia who have three games in hand.
