Ulinzi Stars continued with preparations for the Saturday 19th May Kenyan Premier League (KPL) game against Wazito FC with a 4 – 0 win over Liberty Sports in a Wednesday 16th May friendly match staged at Barclays Sports Club in Ruaraka.
After taking a break this past weekend, the team played two friendly matches sandwiched in training sessions, the first practice game seeing Ulinzi Stars beat Eastlanders 8 – 1 at Camp Toyoyo on Friday 12th May before taking on Liberty.
A brace from Oscar Wamalwa and goals from Collins Ochieng and Mark Bikokwa aided the team to the 4 – 0 win over Liberty as The Don sought to keep his charges in the right shape.
Ulinzi Stars was scheduled to play Gor Mahia on Sunday 13th May but the game was postponed as Gor was also listed to play Hull City in a friendly match on the same day. A new date for the Gor Mahia game is not yet set.
Ahead of the Wazito game, the team dropped to third place by virtue of being inactive on the weekend and Mathare United picking a point to go second on 26, one more than Ulinzi Stars and The Don will be hoping to get the team back up.
The team goes into the Wazito game unbeaten in five matches, and with three straight wins.
