Goalkeeper Timothy Odhiambo is among the 21 locally based players called up to Harambee Stars
Goalkeeper Timothy Odhiambo is among the locally based players called up to the Kenya national team Harambee Stars by head coach Sebastien Migne for a one day training camp on Tuesday 15th May at Camp Toyoyo, Nairobi.
The coach has called up 21 players, with Odhiambo being among the three keepers called up, having recently featured for the Kenya U20 and U23 national teams.
The keeper is the only Ulinzi Stars player called up to the team and in reaction, he termed it a great motivation.
“Of course I am happy to get this chance; I am very motivated by this turn and as a player I believe this is a chance I have to take,” Odhiambo said.
Odhiambo has risen from the national junior teams and terms the experiences he has had there, the perfect stepping stone for him.
“I took vital lessons as an U20 player and recently I have been under coach (Francis) Kimanzi at the U23 team and I can say I have really learnt a lot from him. I still have a lot to learn and I believe this is another opportunity,” he added.
