Ibrahim Shambi will miss the Posta Rangers clash on Thursday 9 May as he nurses a thigh injuryThe team continued with preparations for the Thursday 9th May clash against Posta Rangers with four players sitting out with injury, as head coach Benjamin Nyangweso plots for a second straight win, following the 1 – 0 victory over Nzoia Sugar.
Defender Brian Birgen, who sustained a facial cut in the clash against Nzoia Sugar is yet to recover and joins three others who picked injuries in earlier matches. Team Doctor John Imboywa has confirmed he will not be available for the game.
Shambi, Okinyi, Waweru
Birgen joins Ibrahim Shambi who picked a thigh muscle strain in the loss to Bandari FC at the Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa. In the same game, Boniface Okinyi suffered a groin injury and they will also be out.
Daniel Waweru, who suffered an ankle injury in April in the game against Western Stima had a recurrence of the injury in training ahead of the Gor Mahia game at Afraha Stadium and has also been put on extended rest.
Meanwhile, Omar Mbongi, who was substituted in the second half of the Nzoia Sugar game is fit and in contention for a place in the team.
In the first leg match against Posta Rangers, Ibrahim Shambi scored a second half screamer to salvage a point after John Nairuka’s opener for Rangers in the first half.
