Kago, Hamisi in the squad as preps for Bandari hit top gear

Team Manager Stephen Ocholla issues instructions to defender Hamisi Abdalla in a past match

There will be three additions to the squad as the team prepares to face Bandari in the 10th match of the 2018 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) season, at Mbaraki Sports Club on Sunday 8th April. John Kago, who has not been in the squad for the last two match days is back to boost head coach Dunstan Nyaudo’s midfield options.

The midfielder will be joined by defender Hamisi Abdalla and goalkeeper Jacktone Odhiambo as the team hopes to rise from the defeat at home to Vihiga United on Wednesday 4th April.

Coming around

Team Manager Stephen Ocholla acknowledges it was hard for the players with the loss coming at the back of a good fight to pick three points against Kariobangi Sharks but notes that they are coming around well after the low moment.

“After a loss you’d definitely expect players to be down a bit as the reality of losing three points sink in, but we have spoken about it as a team and we are hoping to improve on the performance we had on Wednesday,” he said.

Good preps

The team has been camping in Likoni since Thursday and Ocholla notes that the preparations have been great with all focus directed at picking three points against one of the best performing teams so far in the season.

“So far the preparations have been good; the boys are charged for the game and the motivation they have is to make up for the dropped points. We are hoping for a good game here but we know it will not be easy, with Bandari’s form this season,” he added.

Bandari will also head to the game on the back of a loss, having been beaten by Kakamega Homeboyz away at Bukhungu Stadium.
