Midweek win spurs positivity ahead of Wazito clash

Mark Bikokwa was on target as Ulinzi Stars hit Armored Brigade 3 – 1 in a midweek friendly in preparation for the Wazito FC game

Ulinzi Stars continued with the shape up for the Sunday 16th September Kenyan Premier League (KPL) clash against Wazito FC with a midweek friendly match against Armored Brigade in Nakuru, picking a 3 – 1 win.

Oscar Wamalwa scored a brace in the game to add on Mark Bikokwa’s strike, delivering the win in a game head coach Dunstan Nyaudo termed key to preparation for a tough game, considering Wazito FC are fighting to stay up.

Tough side

Debutants Wazito claimed a 2 – 1 win over AFC Leopards in their last game and The Don is well aware of the threat they bring to the game, thus the choice of a tough side for a friendly, which he termed good practice for his charges.

“We opted on playing a military team because the team we are going to face is also a tough team and seeing that they are fighting relegation we expect that they will be out to throw everything at us.

“I am happy at the practice we got in the friendly. I think we picked some good lessons to apply in the remaining practice sessions and the game,” he said.

The Wazito clash will be staged at the Kericho Green Stadium starting 2pm and the tickets for the match will be sold at Kshs 200 for the main stand and 100 for the terraces.
