Head coach Benjamin Nyangweso has called for a better display against Zoo FCangers, Benjamin Ny
Head coach Benjamin Nyangweso once again laid the blame on wastefulness upfront as Ulinzi Stars suffered yet another loss in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL), this time at the hands of Posta Rangers at the Afraha Stadium on Thursday 9th May.
A dominant first half saw Ulinzi create a number of open chances but lacked the killer instinct, allowing Rangers to escape unscathed after 45 minutes and the visitors stepped up in the second half, with Gershon Likonoh driving the dagger right in the Ulinzi hearts with the sole strike.
Counts for nothing
Nyangweso noted good play from his charges, but noted that without getting the ball to the back of the net, all that counts for nothing as he reflected on the third loss in three matches.
“We had our chances and failed to use them; Posta got one and made good use of it. That is the summary of the game; we played well but we can’t win if we don’t score and by now they know it very well.
“Three losses in four matches is painful and it definitely affects the players’ morale but we have to encourage them and motivate them ahead of the next game and also to see that we give a good finish to the season,” he said.
Next up is a game against Zoo FC and the coach has called on his charges to be at their best.
“Zoo is a tough team and the fact that we will be playing away from home means we have to be on alert. We have to pick a positive result in the match,” he added.
