Nyaudo rings changes in team to face Sharks

Elvis Nandwa (right) was a doubt for the clash against Sharks but has recovered in time to start.

Head coach Dunstan Nyaudo has tinkered with the squad list ahead of the game against Kariobangi Sharks on Sunday 8th July at Afraha Stadium with a few players unavailable and one suspended.

From the team that faced Thika United in the last game, the coach will have Bernard Ongoma start in midfield in place of Ibrahim Shambi who misses from the squad completely while Cliff Kasuti returns to the squad but starts on the bench, replacing Ongoma.

Mwale in advanced role

Oliver Ruto, who was on the bench in the win over Thika United gets to start in the left back role, which means new signing Harun Mwale, who had a great game against Thika is deployed in an advanced position.

Elvis Nandwa, who was a key doubt for the coach ahead of this game, recovers in time and will start in an advanced midfield role, hoping to get another goal after scoring a brace against Thika. His was also the only goal when Ulinzi Stars beat Sharks in the first leg.

Churchill Muloma returns to the squad and starts from the bench along with Oscar Wamalwa who was also a doubt for the game, while Hamisi Abdalla misses out and Michael Otieno is suspended.

Starting XI: Timothy Odhiambo (GK), Cylus Shitote, Geoffrey Kokoyo (c), George Omondi, Oliver Ruto John Kago, Bernard Ongoma, Daniel Waweru, Harun Mwale, Elvis Nandwa, Masita Masuta.
