George Omondi in action against Posta Rangers on Sunday 18th March at Afraha Stadium. The defender is a major injury concern ahead of the game against Nzoia.
As the game against Nzoia Sugar approaches, Dunstan The Don Nyaudo will have more than just Masita Masuta’s injury to worry about, with a confirmation by Team Doctor John Imboywa that regular center back George Omondi also complained of pain after the 10 – 0 win over Nakuru Youth Olympic in a Thursday 3rd May friendly match at Afraha Stadium.
According to the doctor’s injury report, Omondi has an Achilles injury and just like Masuta, will be subjected to a late fitness test before the team embarks on the trip to Bungoma later on Friday.
“Masuta limped off and along with George, they will have to undergo late tests to see their readiness. I can’t say for sure whether or not they will play but I will assess them in the morning training. Masita aggravated his thigh injury in the game played on a wet surface while George complained of pain in his Achilles during and after the Chemelil game and it is now a concern,” the doctor said.
Apart from the two, left back Milton Wafula and midfielder Charles Orinda are also nursing injuries. Wafula has a knee sprain and Orinda an ankle injury.
The four join earlier ruled out players Kelvin Amwayi and Omar Mbongi.
Heading to the game, The Don will be hoping to guide the team to a third straight win after victories over Nakumatt and Chemelil Sugar FC.
