Hassan Mohamed is suspended for the game against Sofapaka after picking his fifth yellow card of the season against Nzoia Sugar
Head coach Dunstan Nyaudo will be forced to reorganize his defence when he sends the team out to take on Sofapaka at the Narok County Stadium on Sunday with the confirmation of Hassan Rio Mohamed’s suspension.
Rio was booked in the 0 – 0 draw with Nzoia Sugar last time out at Afraha Stadium, making it five bookings in the season for the defender and he will thus be ineligible for the weekend game.
In his absence, the coach will have a tough decision to make as the natural replacement for Rio is George Omondi, who played in the right back position last time out and with Cylus Shitote still injured it will definitely give the coach a selection dilemma.
Scans for Eugene
Meanwhile, another defender, Eugene Ochieng will have further scans taken on his injured knee in a fortnight as he continues with his recuperation. The injury means the former Sony Sugar defender will have to wait longer for his debut after being enlisted in the team in the midseason transfer window.
Another player set to wait longer for a debut is Oscar Injika who is ruled out with an ankle injury.
On a more positive turn, midfielders Mark Bikokwa and Omar Boraafya are available for selection after missing a number of matches with injury.
In the first leg meeting at Afraha Stadium, Sofapaka beat Ulinzi Stars 2 – 1.
