Saruni calls for a rise

James Saruni in action against Vihiga United

The scars from the home loss to Vihiga United are still fresh and skipper James Saruni says they can only be covered with a positive result in Mombasa when they take on Bandari in the 10th round of matches on Sunday 8th April.

A late concession against Vihiga handed Ulinzi their first home loss of the campaign and Saruni opines that they have to rise from the defeat, and he notes that with the preparations and positivity in the team, a win is all they will be gunning for.

Have to rise

“We have to rise from the defeat; the preparations have been good and we are very positive as we head to this match. The biggest lesson we have to pick from the last match is the need to utilize our chances, especially the ones that we create early,” he noted.

Just like Ulinzi Stars, Bandari will be heading to the game on the back of a loss, having fallen 0 – 1 to Kakamega Homeboyz in their previous match.

Good run

In the two sides’ last meeting, Bandari won 1 – 0 in Mombasa buit earlier, they had failed to beat Ulinzi in 13 matches, with the Soldiers winning seven of the encounters. Saruni wants a return to normalcy.

“We have to avoid the rush late in the game because that way we become prone to mistakes. We have had good results against Bandari in the previous meetings and we hope the good run persists,” he added.
