Ibrahim Shambi will miss the Mathare United game after suffering a cut in the upper lip in the game against KCB
Kenya U23 international midfielder Ibrahim Shambi will not take part in the game against Mathare United when Ulinzi Stars troop to the pitch for the third match of the season on Saturday 22nd December.
Shambi started in both the Vihiga United and KCB FC matches but couldn’t finish the games as he suffered first half injuries in both matches, forcing his withdrawal.
In the opening game, he came out with a deep cut in the mouth which needed stitching after an aerial collision, and the same happened in the second match after going up in a challenge with Eston Esiye, once again needing stitching.
Team Doctor John Imboywa says he will have to be kept off action until he fully recovers.
“We had to stitch him on the same spot as in the first game and so I think it is wise to keep him off action until he fully heals,” the doctor said.
At the same time, the team will still miss the services of Omar Boraafya, who sustained a thigh injury in training ahead of the second match of the season.
Mark Bikokwa is also ruled out as he continues with his recovery from a hamstring injury. The doctor says the progress is good with the striker, who is currently in close observation.
