Cliff Kasuti played 87 minutes as Ibrahim Shambi and Timothy Odhiambo featured full time in Kenya U23’s 0 – 1 loss to Uzbekistan U23
Ulinzi Stars once again had huge representation at the Kenya U23 national team, Emerging Stars as the side fell to a last minute goal to the Uzbeks in the international friendly match on Monday 27th March.
For the second game, midfielder Ibrahim Shambi and goalkeeper Timothy Otieno played the entire 90 minutes while Cliff Kasuti, who also played full time in the first game on Friday 23rd March, was withdrawn after 87 minutes.
Shambi had a glorious chance in the game and should have been the hero had his header in the 65th minute gone in, but he watched helplessly as it bounced off the bar with the scores standing at 0 – 0.
Odhiambo had great saves in the game but for the second game running, he was denied a clean sheet when poor marking in defence allowed substitute Doston Tursonov to head in from close range.
All the three Ulinzi Stars players are graduates of the Kenya U20 national team.
In the first match between the two nations, Kenya won 2 – 1 with Kasuti providing the assist for the second goal.
