Ahead of the team’s preseason, head coach Dunstan Nyaudo has revealed that he will be opening the doors for a two – day trial period to try and have a complete squad in time for the 2018/19 season which commences on December 8.
The trials will be conducted at the Afraha Stadium, with the dates set for 1st and 2nd November.
From the trials, the coach says he will slot a few lucky players to the first team ahead of the start of the preseason training, which will be conducted in Mombasa.
“We will be holding trials for two days; on 1st and second to try and identify additional players that we may want to bring on board. I am targeting six new players to beef up the team and straight after this exercise we will leave for Mombasa for preseason,” he said.
In the 2018 campaign, Ulinzi Stars finished fourth in the Kenyan Premier League and also finished fourth in the SportPesa Shield after falling 3 – 4 on post match penalties against AFC Leopards at Moi International Sports Center (MISC) Kasarani.
The coach has already set a higher bar for the coming campaign.
