Defender Brian Birgen shields Posta Rangers’ Titus Achesa away in a past game on Sunday 18th March, 2018. The defender will be among the returnees after six months out
Head coach Dunstan Nyaudo is putting his house in order ahead of the new season and his plans will be boosted massively with the return of three players and a coach to the team after months out undertaking military progression courses.
Defender Brian Birgen and midfielder Boniface Onyango, who left in May are through with their course and will be incorporated back into the team, while Michael Otieno and goalkeeping coach Francis Onyiso will also be making returns after months out.
Part of preseason
The four will all be part of the coach’s preseason training programme though he revealed they will be given a break afterwards and rejoin the team after a short rest.
“Boniface and Brian are finishing their course and Michael is also through while Onyiso will be back as well and they will all be with the team in Mombasa for preseason. So we expect to have a bigger impact in the coming season.
“For gelling purposes we need everyone on board then afterwards they will have a short break after preseason to relax before rejoining the team. All I can say is I am happy they are all back, because we need to have these options,” he said.
The team assembled on Thursday 1st November to start preparations for the 2018/19 campaign with the coach conducting trials ahead of the trip to Mombasa for preseason.
