The Don hopes to build on Leopards win

Head coach Dunstan Nyaudo consults with his assistant James Mulinge ahead of the game against AFC Leopards on Sunday 17th February at Kenyatta Stadium in MachakosL

Head coach Dunstan Nyaudo termed it a big relief ending a six – game winless run with a victory over AFC Leopards in the team’s last match, at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Sunday 17th February.

Prior to the win, the team had managed five draws and a loss and the sigh of relief was audible from both the technical bench and the players at the final whistle, which declared Daniel Waweru’s goal enough to usher the team back to winning ways.

Starting point

The coach, speaking after the game, termed it a good starting point to a return to normalcy after weeks of pressure as the team registered unfavorable results. Next up is a clash against Posta Rangers on Saturday 23rd February at the same venue and he is looking to build on the win over Leopards.

“There was a lot of pressure and getting the win was a relief. It had started affecting even the players and so it was a big boost to them and will propel them to the next assignment.

“In the next game, we are playing Posta Rangers, who are also struggling as we were and also like our last opponents, Leopards. So to approach them we will need a lot of caution and seriousness. We are definitely looking to start a good run and keep the momentum,” he said.

The team is currently on 17 points and placed 11th on the league standings.
