Head coach Dunstan Nyaudo has assured of a better season in 2018/19 after a fourth place finish in 2018
Head coach Dunstan Nyaudo has assured of good planning and a better season in the 2018/19 campaign, after guiding the side to a fourth placed finish on his first season in the top flight, which itself, marked an improvement from the 2017 season.
A marker to the season Ulinzi Stars had was a good outing at the 2018 KPL Awards gala when four nominees from the team managed podium finishes, led by the coach himself, after taking home second place in the Coach of the Year category.
Fairly good season
Team Manager Christopher Ouma, midfielder Elvis Nandwa and defender Oliver Ruto also won awards in their respective categories and The Don says the good presence at the gala is a sign of things to come as he looks to step up from the performance in the 2018 season.
“We had a fairly good season; we managed to clinch a few awards at the gala, now we want to make it better next season, and we have to start that now. I am happy for all the awards we got and this being my first season, I’d say we have had a good start and that is a sign of things to come.
“We are making early plans for the coming season and we will have a few new signings based on performance as we strengthen the team and also rectify last season’s shortcomings,” he said.
The team will resume on 31st October in time for preseason training, which starts on 1st November in Mombasa.
