Oscar Wamalwa celebrates his goal against Vihiga United in the league match on Sunday 15th July which ended 2 – 0
The month of July was a great one for striker Oscar Wamalwa and he hopes he can carry the fine form he had in the period to August.
The lanky forward netted thrice in five matches, in July, tying with Elvis Nandwa as the highest scorers in the month and he is now gunning for even better tidings as the team looks to keep the unbeaten run registered heading to August.
A team player, Wamalwa is not only focused on personal gains but hopes he can help the team get to its targets, even if it means not scoring but the team winning.
“It is always about getting three points; I may fail to score but help the team get three points maybe by pressing of giving the assist but as a striker and after having had a consistent month in July, I hope to build on that and get even better in August.
“For the good of the team, we all have to be consistent because that’s what will see the team rise on the log,” he said.
Sofapaka beat Ulinzi Stars 2 – 1 in the first leg in Nakuru and as the teams head to Narok for the second leg, Wamalwa is keen to see that the Nairobi side doesn’t complete a double over them.
“We know we are a good team and we can compete with the best teams around; that’s for sure and we have to prove it here. They won the first leg and we are keen to ensure they don’t win the second as well.
“This is very straight forward, we will be trying to pick three points in the game,” he added.
