Wazito a top opponent, observes Ricky

Goalkeeper Jacktone Ricky Odhiambo is hoping the team can continue with the fine streak it has had in the past few matches when it faces Wazito FC in the next Kenyan Premier League (KPL) game, on Saturday 19th May.

Despite being newcomers in the KPL, Wazito have beaten some of the top teams in the league, including Mathare United and Sofapaka, and Ricky has called for caution when taking on them.

Back to action

Ulinzi Stars was inactive this past weekend as the game against Gor Mahia, earlier scheduled for 13th May, was postponed and heading to the Wazito clash, the keeper says they have prepared well and hopes they will be in the best state for the clash.

“So far we have trained well and we hope to be in the best state of mind and fitness for this game because here we will be facing a good side with very experienced players. They are coming from a loss and facing such a team is tough because they want to get back to winning ways.

Seriousness

Eight points separate the two sides on the KPL log but Ricky knows that doesn’t count for much going to this game.

“Like all other games in the league, we want to approach this one with the seriousness it deserves and I believe we have the right players to cope with the threat that Wazito come with,” he said.

The keeper heads to the game on two straight clean sheets.
