Elijah Mwanzia will return to the team in the game against Riverplate in the SportPesa Shield quarters
The team to face Riverplate FC in the quarter finals of the SportPesa Shield has been named ahead of the clash at Bukhungu Stadium on Saturday 1st September, with defender Boniface Andayi handed his first start and will partner Hassan Mohamed in central defence.
Elijah Mwanzia, who has been missing in action recently, returns to the team and will lead the attack while Omar Boraafya is also drafted in the team and will be offering more attacking options.
Mwale in defence
In a much changed team, Harun Mwale, who has been playing a lot of games in an advanced position on the left, will be deployed on the left side of defence while Hamisi Abdalla keeps his place in the right side of defence after a series of fine displays.
Ibrahim Shambi will be starting in midfield while Bernard Ongoma will be the defensive shield in the midfield. Regulars Oliver Ruto, John Kago, George Omondi, Elvis Nandwa and Daniel Waweru are all named on the bench while there is no place in the squad for Geoffrey Kokoyo who is ill, and Masita Masuta and Omar Mbongi, who are injured.
