Defender Brian Birgen shields Posta Rangers’ Titus Achesa away in a past game on Sunday 18th March, 2018. The defender played his last game for the 2018 season in the 1 – 2 loss to Sofapaka on Sunday 27th May.
Right back Brian Birgen will not be part of the team for the second half of the season as he exits to pursue career progression courses in the military and he has passed his gratitude and best wishes for the team as he leaves.
The defender missed the opening three matches of the season as he recovered from a preseason injury but on his return, he featured in all of the team’s matches, providing three assists, against Kariobangi Sharks, Bandari FC and Nzoia Sugar.
Rise from defeat
However, his final match for the 2018 campaign did not go so well, as Ulinzi Stars fell 1 – 2 to Sofapaka on Sunday 27th May. As he leaves, he believes the team has what it takes to rise from the defeat and bring back the smile to the fans’ faces.
“Definitely, I would have liked to exit with a win but that is part of the game. I trust that my team mates will lift the team from this current low and get back to winning ways, for the good of the club and the fans.
“I wish them all well as I leave for my course and I will always support the team and follow their performance,” he said.
