The date for the second match of the season, against KCB, has been shifted from Sunday 16 to Saturday 15th December, 2018
The Kenyan Premier League (KPL) has communicated changes to the weekend fixtures with one of them affecting Ulinzi Stars and now the team’s second match of the season will be played on Saturday 15th December at Afraha Stadium.
In the initial order, the match was set for play on Sunday 16th December.
The change of date is not the only shift from the earlier schedule; the timing also changes from 3pm kickoff to 4.15pm.
Ulinzi Stars is gunning for a win after the opening clash ended in a 0 – 2 loss, to Vihiga United at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega. KCB, newly promoted to the KPL after three seasons in the second tier, also opened their campaign with a loss to Kakamega Homeboyz at Bukhungu Stadium.
Rise in the game
Head coach Dunstan Nyaudo has called on his charges to rise in the game while he cautioned against complacency.
“KCB is a good side, and I am told they played well against Homeboyz. They were unlucky to lose their opening game just as we were and we can only focus well and seek a rise from the opening defeat. We have to be alert and take our chances against KCB,” he said after the loss to Vihiga United.
The match will be the second of a double header at the venue, with Mount Kenya United (formerly Nakumatt FC) set to take on Posta Rangers in the opening clash of the day, starting 2pm.
