Ezekiel Okare controls the ball in the friendly match against AFC Leopards at Hope Center on Saturday 1st December. He will be starting against Vihiga United in the first match of the 2018/19 season.
The first game of the 2018/19 season is here and head coach Dunstan Nyaudo has picked his finest for the clash against Vihiga United set for Bukhungu Stadium on Sunday 9th December.
In the starting team will be two new faces; Ezekiel Okare and Robert Oyuyo. Okare was signed from Sofapaka while Oyuyo returns to the team on a second stint, having earlier featured for Ulinzi Stars in 2008 to 2009.
Okare leads the attack and he will be expected to deliver the goals while Oyuyo starts in central defence alongside Boniface Andayi, who has been impressive in preseason and also wrapped up the 2018 season on a high.
Kenya U23 international Ibrahim Shambi will shoulder the weight of defensive duties in midfield as Bernard Ongoma and Omar Mbongi miss in action.
James Saruni will once again skipper the team, starting in goal ahead of Kenya U23 international Timothy Odhiambo while another Kenya U23 international Harun Mwale is named on the bench with award winning Oliver Ruto preferred in the left back position.
Churchill Muloma, Daniel Waweru and Elvis Nandwa app up the experience in midfield and the team will do with creativity from Omar Boraafya in the flanks as new signing John Njuguna waits for his chance, having been named on the bench.
