Injury blow strikes ahead of Wazito clash

Oscar Wamalwa celebrates his goal against Kariobangi Sharks which earned Ulinzi Stars a point in a 1 – 1 draw earlier in the season. He will miss the Wazito game with a hamstring injury.

Two more players have joined the long list of absentees for the clash against Wazito FC with forwards Oscar Wamalwa and Justin Onuonga picking injuries in preparations for the clash set to be hosted at Kericho Green Stadium on Sunday 16th September.

The two picked hamstring injuries in the Friday 14th September training session as head coach Dunstan Nyaudo did the final touches to the side ahead of the game and it is confirmed they will be out of the clash in two days’ time.

Short in attack

Their absence leaves The Don seriously short in attack, given that Masita Masuta is out with injury and Mark Bikokwa is yet to fully recover from an earlier hamstring injury picked in the game against Sony Sugar in August.

“It is a blow for us, definitely because now I we are really short in attack. Wamalwa had picked up well and with Masuta out I was really counting on him. Bikokwa is also not yet fully fit and it makes things harder.

“As for Onuonga, he was just returning from injury and I thought I would have more options in the wide areas so this is a big blow. However, we have good players that I can count on, including Mwanzia (Elijah) and I believe they will deliver,” he said.

Other players ruled out of the game include Jacktone Odhiambo (suspended), Geoffrey Kokoyo, Eugene Ochieng, Oscar Injika (injuries),
