Kago not putting on flip flops just yet

John Kago in action in the game against Nzoia Sugar on Saturday 5th May at Sudi Stadium

John Kago’s first goal of the season which placed the team on course for a 2 – 0 win over Nzoia Sugar on Saturday 5th May was a culmination of fine displays for the team that have seen him start in all of the last four matches and he says his best is yet to come.

The midfielder has been a cog in the team, showing great potential in attack, link up play as well as breaking opposition play and has been growing by the game. He is thankful for the opportunity but notes that his ambition is not just to cement his place in the side but to aid the team win titles.

Build confidence

“Personally I am very glad to score; this was my first goal of the season and it helps build my confidence as a player. I can’t relax yet; I want to keep working hard for such performances but at the end of it, it is not just about Kago but the team,” he said.

With Bernard Ongoma playing a more defensive role, Kago has had the freedom to express himself more and the two, at the heart of midfield have shown great partnership in the past few games. He draws his confidence from directions from the bench and he is definitely enjoying his game.

“I am happy with the performance I have been putting in and the coaches have been very encouraging. For me, as long as I do this for the team, I am okay,” he added.

The goal was Kago’s third as an Ulinzi Stars player and he fancies a few more for the season.
