Masita Masuta in action during a past game. The striker hopes he can get to feature against his former team, Nzoia Sugar
Lead striker Masita Masuta is hoping he can play a part in the game against his former team, Nzoia Sugar, on Saturday 5th May at the Sudi Stadium in Bungoma.
The team was thrown to a spin on Thursday 3rd May when Masita scored then limped off the friendly match against Nakuru Youth Olympic, the last training game ahead of the weekend clash and according to the team doctor, he will be subjected to a late fitness test before the team leaves for Bungoma.
Masuta has been carrying a thigh concern from the Nakumatt game two weeks ago, which had him withdrawn in the 22nd minute. He says heading to the season, a game against his former team, Nzoia, was among the clashes he was really looking forward to and is gutted at the prospect of missing it.
“It is definitely disappointing but I am crossing fingers; this is one of the most important games I was looking forward to in the season and I hope I can get to the traveling team, and at least play a part in the game.
“The pain has been there since after the Nakumatt game but I have been working hard to see that I am fit for the Nzoia clash. I have a special relation with the team thus my desire to face them tomorrow,” he said.
