New boy Mwale tipped for a bright future

Newly signed utility player Harun Mwale had an outstanding debut against Thika United in the Sunday 1st July clash at Thika Sub County Stadium, attracting praise from head coach Dunstan Nyaudo.

Mwale, who can operate in both defence and a multiple positions in midfield, was plucked from National Super League (NSL) side, St. Joseph Youth and deployed on the left back position against Thika and did well as he featured for 90 minutes.

Minor errors

The 20 – year old’s performance in the game was not devoid of minor errors, which the coach observes are normal for a first timer in the top flight and he is confident the player will pick up well if only he can build on the performance on his debut.

“Mwale is a young player with a very bright future; I like nurturing such players as compared to going for ready – made players. With good guidance, he has the potential of becoming a great player for this country and if he continues playing like he did in the game, he will get many more such chances.

“He still has some small mistakes here and there but that is expected, and can be sorted as we progress. From his performance on his debut, I’d give him 8/10,” The Don said.

Areas to fix

Ulinzi Stars picked a 2 – 0 win in the game, courtesy of Elvis Nandwa’s goals either side of half time but the coach noted that there were still a few areas in attack that need fixing.

“My concern still remains the number of chances that we create and don’t score but we will still work on that,” he added.

Next up is a Sunday 8th July clash against Kariobangi Sharks.
