Preps for Sofapaka clash conclude on a high

The team warms up ahead of the friendly match against Wajiji FC on Friday 3rd August

The team wrapped up preparations for the Sunday 5th August clash against Sofapaka on a high, with big wins in friendly matches against Makadara United and Wajiji FC, sinking 13 goals past the two lower league sides.

In the first friendly match against Makadara, which was staged in Kabete on Thursday, Oscar Wamalwa continued with his fine form seen in July by bagging a brace to lead the way in a 6 – 0 win, with Cliff Kasuti, Daniel Waweru, Mark Bikokwa and Justin Onuonga scoring the other goals.

On Friday, Wajiji FC came touring and at the same venue, were hit 7 – 0 by the Soldiers, with Wamalwa once again scoring twice to add on goals from Elvis Nandwa, Masita Masuta, Churchill Muloma, Cliff Kasuti and Enosh Ochieng.

Heading to the Sofapaka game head coach Dunstan Nyaudo will be hoping to see the fine goal scoring form carried to the clash as the team seeks to avenge the 1 – 2 loss at Afraha Stadium in the first leg meeting between the two sides.

Goals from Kepha Aswani and Umaru Kasumba left Elvis Nandwa’s strike as mere consolation in the first leg and Ulinzi Stars, unbeaten in the last four league matches, will be keen to ensure the hosts don’t do a double over them.
