Head coach Benjamin Nyangweso’s training programme for Saturday 16 November was a friendly match against Nation Media FC, a team that takes part in the Corporate League – Left Foot Sports, and the boys did well to register a 3 – 1 win.
Kelvin Thairu, who has really been on the rise lately, scored the opening goal for Ulinzi Stars but Simon Mwema would soon level matters from the penalty spot after a foul from Harun Mwale, to see the game head to the break all tied up.
In the second period, Daniel Waweru and Bernard Ongoma helped themselves to the second and third goals that put the game beyond the Media team.
In the game, Enosh Ochieng, James Saruni, and defender Cyril Nasiali, all who have been out with injury played a part, with Saruni and Enosh second half substitutes, while Nasiali started. Enosh would go ahead to grab an assist as well.
The match was the perfect preparation for Nyangweso’s charges ahead of the Thursday 21st November Kenyan Premier League (KPL) clash against Kariobangi Sharks at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani.
