Masita Masuta has been backed to lift the team after a fine performance against Chemelil Sugar
Striker Masita Masuta returned to the team with a bang against Chemelil Sugar in the last game, after the injury scare that forced him to be withdrawn in the 22nd minute in the previous clash, against Nakumatt and his performance attracted much praise.
Masita showed a different aspect of his game in the clash, hassling Chemelil Sugar defenders and going deep in the midfield and flanks to get the ball, before capping it with a fine strike that handed the team the second goal in a 2 – 0 win.
He should have scored a hat trick, but twice hit the bar, with powerful headers and head coach Duncan The Don Nyaudo was full of praise for his performance, terming the game a turning point for the striker, as he backed him to do even better.
“Masita’s growth in the season has been a work in progress. I know him and I believe we have not seen the best of him yet. I told him in the friendly matches we have been playing that if he can be calm in front of goal, he will get to score many goals because he can be lethal in the box.
“Now we are seeing him terrorize defenders in and out of the box. This is a new Masita you are seeing and I am happy that the true instincts are coming to the fore just when we are about to play Nzoia Sugar, his former team,” The Don stated.
The goal against Chemelil, a thumping header that beat John Waw, came after a perfect run to meet a speculative cross from Michael Otieno, another player who had a great game on the day.
