Head coach Dunstan Nyaudo has called on a strong finish to the season after guiding the team back to winning ways
Head coach Dunstan Nyaudo has called on his charges to give a strong ending to the season and hold on third place following the team’s return to winning ways, with a 2 – 1 win over AFC Leopards on Sunday.
The win at Afraha Stadium came on the back of two straight losses, to Kariobangi Sharks in the SportPesa Shield, and Zoo in the league and the coach breathed a big sigh of relief at the win courtesy of goals from Elvis Nandwa and Enosh Ochieng.
He said the team resolved to fight for nothing but a win against Leopards and with the team set to wrap up the league campaign with a game against Mathare United, he hopes to bank another win.
“We were seriously disoriented by the loss to Sharks in the Shield semis, then against Zoo it was all about hard luck, so going to the AFC Leopards game we promised ourselves to win our last home game and I am glad at what I saw because we were mentally prepared and now we want to sign off on a high,” he said.
The Don still has another game against AFC Leopards to prepare for, in the SportPesa Shield third place playoff and he feels the Sunday win is a good precursor for the clash.
“AFC Leopards is a big team and has backing and motivation from the fan base but I am not worried about that. Their problems have been a result of the lack of stability in the coaching department but they have a good team and I think the game was a good preparation for the third place playoff,” he added.
