Kelvin Amwayi has suffered an injury setback and will miss two weeks of action as he undergoes physiotherapy treatment
The preparations for the 13th match of the season commenced on Tuesday 25th April after the win over Nakumatt FC on Sunday but head coach Dunstan Nyaudo will have to do with a few concerns ahead of the Sunday 29th April clash against Chemelil Sugar.
Midfielder Kelvin Amwayi will not be part of the team’s match day squads for at least two weeks as he undergoes physiotherapy treatment after picking a thigh muscle strain in training.
Team Doctor John Imboywa has prescribed the two week rest as he takes the treatment with the hope of having him back in time for the clash against Gor Mahia.
“Amwayi has a strain in the quadriceps and we realized he was playing with some pain. It may be bad for him in the long run so the measure we took was to prescribe physio treatment which should take about two weeks,” he said.
Meanwhile, lead striker Masita Masuta is under watch after his early sub in the game against Nakumatt. The forward came out worse after a collision with Lucas Indeche and had to be withdrawn in the 22nd minute.
“Masuta trained with the rest but he is under watch. He picked a thigh injury in the collision and just like the others, we don’t take chances with such. As the week progresses we will have a report on him,” he added.
The clash against Chemelil Sugar at Afraha Stadium presents the chance for the team to pick a first home win of the month after a loss and a draw in the earlier two.
